Sarah and Kyle Sitting in a Tree..First Comes Love, Then Comes...MARRIAGE!

Christmas feels like it was a whirlwind. It came so quickly and vanished away even quicker. I haven't blogged in a while but once I got some exciting news this Christmas Eve, I knew I had a good blog post coming. My cousin/best friend Sarah is engaged! I got a phone call from Sarah on Christmas Eve shouting with joy that her long time boyfriend Kyle has just proposed. I was ecstatic to hear the news and I couldn't be happier for the two of you. Congrats guys!

Sarah and I briefly had the chance to chat some wedding things yesterday in the midst of all our family around and she was telling me her ideas and thoughts about the wedding.  One of the first things I asked was about the color purple for the color scheme. Sarah loves purple, so I found it only fitting that I was going to base this blog post around purple for her. I found some ideas/pictures that I thought would be perfect for her. Enjoy Sarah!

"I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck."

Last week we met with our potential Florist. He was great and totally know his flowers! Now,  I will admit that picking out flowers is a hard thing for me. I am very picky and I very much like to be in control. I know its hard but I get nervous that I won't be able to see the flowers before hand. If I could I would be that crazy bride helping the florist arrange them that night before. However I will sit back and relax and have faith in anyone that takes on this project for our wedding. I know the out come will be beautiful no matter what. Here are some ideas that we gave him in what we would like for our wedding. We like the idea of the reception being all white flowers with touches of greens, and then using pops of pinks and greens for the girls's bouquets and then softer pinks and creams for mine. I can't wait!

A Little More Bling Besides the Ring

Definition of a Shoe:

Noun:
A covering for the foot, typically made of leather, with a sturdy sole and not reaching above the ankle.
Definition of a Bridal Shoe:

Noun:
A covering for the foot, typically made of jewels, rhinestones, glitter, and other sparkly objects,  can be very uncomfortable and usually having a 3 in heel or higher.
These days a bride's wedding shoes have long since changed since the old days of wearing your typical white wedding shoes. Most likely those white wedding shoes were probably never to be worn again.  This brings me to saying that bride's shoes have become more of a statement these days rather than just a shoe. If you look at any photographer's blog or website most likely you will find a picture with fabulous shoes that any woman would swoon over.

Everything from glitter and rhinestones, to bright bold colors, and funky designs have been replacing your typical white wedding shoes. I do have to say I am a sucker for shoes and may have purchased a pair of these  glitzy shoes for my big day, however I have my Saks discount to thank for that!

The top designers like Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Kate Spade, and so on will be a little pricey, but since this trend has started a lot of designers like Steve Madden, Guess, Enzo Angoilini, and even Nine West have made their own cheaper versions of the shoes. Who said your toes couldn't have a little of their own bling!
